Why is Obama's brief affiliation with Islam an issue but Bush's relationship with the Saudi Royals is not?

Because Bush is old news and Obama is new. I know for the next 20 years all the problems in a liberals life will be blamed on Bush's legacy. Oddly as for Obama I've yet to hear one Republican I know mention Islam as an issue but quite a few Clinton supporters have brought it up.
