Questions about Toxic Shock Syndrome?

I was close to the end of my period and had to use a tampon instead of my usual pads, and just want to make sure everything is as it should be since yesterday ( a couple hours after I took it out ) I noticed a rash beginning to form. Not the sunburn like rash people say is ociated with TSS, but more like a small rash beginning on my leg ( like a collection of bug bites ) which disappeared within a few hours only to reappear on my arms, which then disappeared. I'm probably just being paranoid but want to be safe. How long does it take for symptoms to set in for TSS?
