Is this weird or is it a normal curiousity with friends opinions...?

Is it normal for me to ask a long time friend if he is interested in , like getting his opinion on it and how he feels when he views it. All I want is to see if I'm normal compared to him bc we are about the same age. So is this wierd, bc I'm curious to know if he does it just interested if he is interested and experiences the same things I do.
